Express Brake

Express Brake® International, Inc. introduces the superior stainless steel Express Brake® Shoe.

The Trucking industry has been using a riveted or bolted style brake shoe for over 60 years. However, today's modern fleets have made tremendous advances in horse power and tonnage. This increased stress dramatically shortens the life span of truck and trailer brake pads.

Express Brake® International, Inc. is the only manufacturer in the industry with the unique feature that allows changing the brake lining instead of the brake shoe. This feature allows a brake change on a vehicle in less than thirty minutes, using a simple 1/2 inch wrench - that's about 90% less time to install than other OEM systems.

Advantages of the Express Brake®

No Removal of Wheels necessary for changing brakes:

  • No jacking up vehicle, save hours replacing worn out brake lining with almost no down time.
  • No oil seal to replace, no oil clean up on inboard drums, making the EBI system environmentally friendly.
  • Vehicles can be fully loaded while replacing worn out brake lining.
  • Vehicle does not have to be on a hard surface to replace worn out brake lining.
  • EBI system reduces back injuries and reduces Workers Compensation Liability. Only a 1/2" wrench and our Clever Lever required to replace worn brake lining.

No Rivet Holes in brake lining means:

  • No places for dirt to collect to create uneven drum wear.
  • 12% more brake lining contacting the drum, increasing stopping ability.
  • 12% more brake lining, increasing the life of the brake lining and the brake drum.
  • The EBI clamping system tested stronger than rivets on the torque or static shear test.

Stainless Steel brake shoe table means:

  • No rust jacking under the brake lining.
  • Easy removal of brake lining when replacing worn out brake lining.
  • Increased life of the brake shoe.

The Unique EBI Design means:

  • The brake lining extends out to the edge of the brake drum, eliminating the wear lip on the brake drum which keeps the system cleaner and extends the life of the brake drum.
  • The cam and anchor end of the brake lining is not beveled, which creates a funnel directing the road grit to the point of contact between the brake lining and the brake drum.
  • No need for a wear gauge, the floating gripper can be used for a quick wear indicator.
  • No more handling and hassling with the brake shoe cores.
  • No modifications on existing axel for retrofit

And most of all, the decreased downtime means increased revenue for you!
